One of two championship, 18-hole golf courses at the Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, the Francis H. I’i Brown South Course is a challenging, snake-like course built upon a prehistoric lava flow. Awarded Golf Magazine’s 2008 – 2009 “Green Golf Award,” the South Course features an innovative design by Nelson-Wright-Haworth and makes excellent use of the natural lava rock formations found in the area.

Highlights of the course include two signature par-3s next to the ocean – the 7th hole where golfers have a chance to spot humpback whales during their winter migration, and the challenging 15th which requires a tee shot over the ocean and is also one of the most photographed holes in the world! This popular Big Island course, which played host to the Senior Skins Game from 1990 – 2000, offers golfers terrific mountain and ocean views.
