When it first opened in 1994, the Wailea Gold Golf Course was recognized by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest as one of the nation’s best new courses. Today, the Wailea Gold, rated one of the world’s best designed courses by readers of Conde Nast Traveler, is home to the annual Wendy’s Champions Skins Game featuring golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and many more!

With a masterful design by world-famous course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Wailea Gold sports a rugged, natural look and feel with ancient lava rock outcroppings, tall, indigenous Hawaiian grasses, and kiawe trees dotting the landscape. What’s more, the course was recognized by the Maui Historical Society for preserving what remains of the papohaku, or prehistoric lava rock walls, built by the early Hawaiians during its construction.

This gorgeous Wailea golf course, with its sparkling white sand bunkers, swaying palm trees, and lush, green fairways, offers spectacular views of the surrounding ocean as well as the Molokini islet, a popular tourist destination and diving spot! Try your best to stay focused because this attractively designed course is also the most challenging of the three courses at Wailea Resort, requiring strategic play and a great deal of precision. Four to six tee boxes on every hole allow golfers of all skill levels to customize their round accordingly.
