It’s a jungle out there!

The friendly folks at Outfitters Kauai invite you on a Wailua River kayak tour and waterfall hike deep into the heart of the beautiful Garden Isle of Kauai! Enjoy the natural beauty and splendor of Kauai’s rainforest interior on this fun-filled, two-for-one activity!

Climb aboard one of the Outfitters Kauai tandem open cockpit kayaks and head on down Kauai’s beautiful Wailua River! The waters are nice and calm, and although you’ll be paddling upstream for this part of the tour, you’ll be heading with the wind at your back for a scenic, pleasant trip along this famous river. Along the way, your friendly and knowledgeable tour guides will share a little bit about Kauai’s fascinating history as well as interesting facts about the local plant life found in abundance along the banks of the river!

After the kayaks have been safely secured for the return trip, you’ll hike into scenic Wailua River Valley where about a mile in you’ll come across an amazing 130’ tall waterfall! Don’t forget to bring a camera along with you (waterproof, ideally). Snap some pictures for the folks back home, take a refreshing dip in one of the area’s swimming holes, or just sit on one of the boulders near the water’s edge and enjoy the absolutely amazing scenery!

It’s the perfect spot for a picnic lunch, wouldn’t you say? For lunch you have a choice of either a Smoked Turkey Watercress Wrap or a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap, along with pasta salad and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert!

After lunch, it’s back to the kayaks for the final leg of the journey. Although you’ll be traveling downstream, the tradewinds run in the opposite direction, so be prepared for a bit of a workout! (It’s OK, there’ll be plenty of time to relax and unwind back at the hotel!)

Lunch comes with pasta salad and a chocolate chip cookie. Cold drinks are available thoughout the day.
Please bring Swimwear, shorts, t-shirt, windbreaker or light raincoat, footwear with aggressive tread for muddy conditions (i.e. sport-type sandals with heel straps or aqua socks with tread ), sunscreen, hat, bug spray, waterproof camera. Items can be bought, or you can rent sport sandals (as available) at our Poipu shop.
