Waimea Canyon Bicycle Downhill Tour

Bicycle downhill on a fun and exhilarating ride from canyon to coast with Outfitters Kauai! Along with your friendly and knowledgeable guides, you’ll cruise along a 12-mile-long paved bike path that takes you through Koke’e and Waimea State Parks and along the edge of gorgeous Waimea Canyon on the Garden Isle of Kauai!

Waimea Canyon is ten miles long, more than a mile wide in some parts, and some 3,000-feet deep - they don’t call it the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” for nothing! (Mark Twain coined the term!) With dramatic, sweeping cliffs, and many terrific lookout points that offer amazing views of the Garden Isle’s natural, pristine beauty, Waimea Canyon is the perfect spot for a pleasant bike ride, morning or afternoon!

Start the day off right with fresh-brewed Kauai coffee and warm blueberry muffins on the van ride up to the top, then off you go on bikes that are both easy to ride and comfortable too! Along the way, you’ll come across a ton of great photo opportunities, so don’t forget to pack your cameras along for the ride. Your guides will point out local flora and native birds you’ll encounter on your ride downhill in addition to cool facts and interesting anecdotes about the history, culture, and legends associated with this famous area of Kauai.

Outfitters Kauai also offers a late afternoon tour (perfect if you’re anything like us!) – same gorgeous scenery and just as fun, only no muffins! Instead, you’ll snack on Kauai Cookies, cold soft drinks, and bottled water!

The bikes are great cruisers with comfy saddles, hi-rise handlebars, Sturmey Archer internal braking hubs-fun and easy to ride!
Dress in layers for cool weather up top, peel 'em off at the rest stops as it warms up on the way down, bring a windbreaker or light rain coat, shoes with closed toes (not sandals), eyeglasses.
